Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which the School collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “Student”) of the School. This Privacy Policy applies to the School and all courses and resource libraries offered by the School.

Personal Identification Information

We may collect personal identification information from Students in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Students enroll in the School or a course or resource library within the School, when they visit the course or resource library they enrolled in, when they subscribe to an email newsletter, when they comment, and in connection with other activities, services, features, or resources we make available in our School. Students may visit the School anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Students only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Students can refuse to supply personal identification information but doing so may prevent them from engaging in certain School related activities.

Information collected may include name and email. Students that pay for a course may submit payment info and their billing address through one of Teachable's payment gateways, including but not limited to their credit or debit card and/or PayPal information and the name and billing address associated with the method of payment. By doing so they must agree to Teachable's and/or the third party payment processor's privacy policy and terms of use.

Information collected through a third-party email provider (ConvertKit) once a student is enrolled allows House Gone Sane to see a student's location (city, country, etc.) and also allows us to tag subscribers according to what they subscribed for (ie. so you get pregnancy course updates instead of an email we would send someone who subscribed to recipes.) House Gone Sane can also view which subscribers have opened an email and/or clicked any links or downloads within the email.

Students can unsubscribe from emails at any time and House Gone Sane can ensure their information is deleted to the degree possible from either the school's records and/or the email service provider's records if a student wants to request this.

To contact the School to make a request for your information to be deleted: Please email the instructor at [email protected] and be sure to spell the email address correctly so we receive it, such as by copying and pasting it. Please specify what it is you want deleted and from where (from the School, from the email service, etc.,) but note that you may need to leave limited information on file to stay enrolled in a course or resource library.

We will process the request within 30 days to the degree possible and respond via email to your request. Depending on your request we may also need to contact Teachable if the information you want deleted is something they also have access to.

How We Use Collected Information

The School may collect and use Students’ personal identification information for the following purposes:

  • To improve customer service
Information you provide helps us respond to your customer service requests and support needs more efficiently.
  • To personalize user experience
We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Students as a group use the services and resources provided in our School.
  • To send periodic emails
We may use Student email addresses to send Students information and updates pertaining to their order. Student email addresses may also be used to respond to Student inquiries, questions, or other requests.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Student personal identification information to others.

Circumstances Where We Would be Obligated to Share Personal Information Collected

The only exceptions where we would give out personal information from our website visitors without their permission is if we were legally required to do so, if we needed to divulge someone’s info in order to take legal action against someone for violating our rights or the rights of other website visitors/users, if we had good reason to believe there were issues with copyright violations, and/or to protect someone’s safety including our own.

In any of these cases, it is possible we would also reach out to a third party we work with to ask them to provide additional details to us or to authorities if necessary.

Third-Party Websites

Students may find advertising or other content in our School that link to the websites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licencors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these websites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our School. In addition, these websites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These websites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Student, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

Cookies

You have the option of disabling cookies on your browser, but this is not recommended for optimum online performance and may affect your ability to view certain parts of the School website or other websites. Please refer to instructions specific for your browser for how to change cookie settings.

Cookies are often needed to track things such as affiliate sales and may be included in automatically tracking other info from the third parties we work with. Some cookies are also necessary for a website to function.

House Gone Sane may use affiliate links within the School, besides that, Teachable may use other cookies in the School that the School doesn't have any control over. There may also be cookies used with third-party integrations, such as ConvertKit for email subscribers, or payment providers, etc.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

The School has the discretion to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We encourage Students to frequently check this page for any changes. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
