Terms of Use

1. Terms

By accessing this School, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms of Use, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. These terms still apply to you if you access any of the schools, pages, URLs, or materials from courses or resource libraries, regardless of whether or not you have read these Terms. If you do not agree with any of these Terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site or Teachable School. The materials contained in this School are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

Please note that any references in these Terms or in Teachable's Terms of Use to a 'course' or 'courses' are also applied to our resource libraries hosted on our Teachable School as well as any coaching programs/packages we offer, (and the only differences as far as policies in these Terms for our different products we offer, are differences in our refund policies for coaching versus our other paid products, which you can read about in sections 9 and 16 of these terms.)

While our resource libraries and coaching we offer are not meant to be considered as a course(s,) since we have decided to host them on a course platform, all the Terms that apply to courses likewise apply to them.

The terms 'School,' 'House Gone Sane School,' 'School Website,' or 'Teachable School,' refer to all of House Gone Sane's Teachable School pages, URLs, resource libraries, and courses as a whole, and these Terms of Use are also applicable to each of these individually as well.

House Gone Sane legally owns and operates the House Gone Sane website housegonesane.com in addition to the House Gone Sane School on Teachable.com and any reference to terms in our Terms of Use or other policies posted on this website, such as ‘we,’ ‘our,’ ‘us,’ ‘I’, 'our site,' or ‘our website’ refer to House Gone Sane as connected with the portion of our business on Teachable.com and our Teachable School.

The term ‘you’ refers to anyone who uses, visits, reads, watches, and/or accesses our Teachable School or website in any way.

The current address for House Gone Sane is 2061 South Park Ave #872, Buffalo, NY 14220. (Please see the regular Terms of Use on Teachable for their website policies and their current business address.)

2. Use License

  1. Permission is granted to temporarily download as many copies as you personally need of any downloadable materials on the School’s website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:
      1. modify or copy the materials, (unless it is for your own personal use at home);
      2. use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
      3. attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on the School’s web site;
      4. remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or
      5. transfer the materials to another person or 'mirror' the materials on any other server.
  2. This license shall automatically terminate if you violate any of these restrictions and may be terminated by the Company at any time. Upon terminating your viewing of these materials or upon the termination of this license, you must destroy any downloaded materials in your possession whether in electronic or printed format. You must also destroy any downloaded materials if and when a full refund you requested is approved, (unless we give you permission otherwise.)

3. Disclaimer

The materials on the School website are provided 'as is'. The School makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties, including without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights. Further, the School does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its website or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site, including housegonesane.com or third-party websites or resources we link to.

When it comes to decisions you make managing your home, decisions before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and postpartum, and raising your children, including decisions on when or where to do certain things, you are personally responsible for making those decisions. The instructor of this School is not a medical professional or expert, and you are responsible for working along with your healthcare provider as well as doing your own research to make medical decisions.

Please note for all coaching clients and students, that while we wish to support you in a practical and even emotional way, and while our tips and resources for keeping your home under control, preparing for a baby, raising kids, managing your home, etc. may help lower stress/anxiety, we are not mental health experts and do not claim in any way to be a substitute for therapy or mental health solutions.

If professional mental health services/support is something you personally need or may need, while we are of course more than happy to still provide coaching sessions to you or respond to any questions you have to the best of our ability, we recommend that you see a professional mental health expert who is qualified to give you medical advice in these areas.

4. Limitations

In no event shall the School be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption,) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on the School’s website, even if the School or an authorized admin of the School has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you if you are under such a jurisdiction, due to location or other circumstances.

5. Revisions and Errata

The materials appearing on the School’s website may include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. The School does not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete, or current. The School may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice. The School does not, however, make any commitment to update the materials.

6. Links

The School has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by the School of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user's own risk.

7. Site Terms of Use Modifications

The School may revise these Terms of Use for its website at any time without notice. By using this website you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these Terms of Use.

8. Governing Law

Any claim relating to the School’s website shall be governed by the laws of the School Owner’s home jurisdiction without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

These Terms of Use are governed by the state of NY and the United States. In the event that any part of these Terms (or any of our policies on the School website, including our Privacy Policy,) are considered invalid or cannot be enforced legally, those portions of the Terms are to be disregarded, and the remaining applicable portions will remain in full effect. Additionally, if you live in another region, any local laws that apply to your use of the internet where you live should be followed by you, in addition to our policies and the regional laws this website is governed by.

House Gone Sane is legally owned and operated as a business, located at 2061 South Park Ave #872 Buffalo NY 14220.

9. Refund Requests

The information in this section is applicable for our courses and Premium Resource Library. (For information specific to requesting a refund for coaching, please scroll down to see the headings specific to refund requests in Section 16 of these Terms, as our policies are a little different for coaching.)

You may request a refund for a paid course or resource library for the amount you paid, so long as it is within 30 days of the purchase, if you are not 100% satisfied with the course or resource library.

Please direct any refund requests to the course instructor Ellie Walker via email to [email protected] and please be sure you spell this email address correctly (such as by copying & pasting it,) so the request is properly received and can be processed.

Please include all of the following information in your refund request:

1.) Clearly state that you are requesting a refund and specify which product it is and the date it was purchased.

2.) Briefly explain the reason why you are not happy with your purchase. We have this policy for the purpose of gathering feedback and making the course or resource library more helpful to future students or users. (The nature of the reason you provide will not impact your refund.)

3.) Please include your name, and if you are emailing us from a different email than the one connected with your Teachable purchase, you will also need to specify which email you used to make the purchase.

Once we have received all of the above details from you, please allow 14 days for processing the refund request on our end from the date we receive your request, (although the School will try to submit and process requests as soon as they are received.) This gives the School time to receive the request, submit it through Teachable (this platform our products are hosted on,) and time for the payment to be reversed.

Note that just the process of reversing a payment can take at least 7-10 business days depending on the method of payment and the payment provider, and this is not something we have control over.

Please note that once we have processed the refund request on our end, we are not responsible for any delays on the end of the bank, credit card company, or other financial institution who is responsible for returning the funds to you.

If you have any issues with receiving the funds after we have submitted a refund request, you will need to contact the bank or company you used to make the purchase.

Although we will put in the refund request on our end within 14 days of receiving your request (with all the details we require to process it,) it may take longer than that for you to actually receive the payment back, based on the policies and quality of customer service of the payment provider you used to make the initial purchase.

The School, card or payment company, or Teachable may request more information from you in order to process a refund request. For instance, if someone contacts us from a different email address, which was not used to make a purchase, or does not provide their name or the reason they are requesting the refund, we may request additional details in order to verify proof of purchase and who the refund needs to be processed to.

The School may at times decide to approve a refund request after 30 days of a person's purchase, depending on the circumstances and reason for the request, but there is no guarantee of this, and this will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

If you have requested a full refund, immediately after it is approved, you will no longer have access to the course or resource library that you were refunded for, along with any other bonus materials that were included with your purchase (including associated Facebook group access) and per our Terms you also must destroy any copies of materials you have in connection with the refunded purchase, including electronic downloads and printable pages you've printed, (unless we give you permission otherwise.)

(If you have previously purchased other digital products/services from us separately, that you have not requested a refund for, you will still retain access to these and any bonus materials or Facebook group access that came with the other purchases.)

The School will let you know the status of any refund requests on our end, after we receive them.

10. Email Policies

Students/users who sign up for a course, coaching, and/or resource library through the House Gone Sane School consent to receiving emails related to the course, coaching, or library and emails on similar topics upon signing up, unless and until they opt out or unsubscribe. Teachable typically gives you the option to opt in or out of School emails when you enroll in a product hosted on their platform.

Please note that if you are already subscribed to House Gone Sane emails prior to using Teachable, opting out of School emails that originate from our Teachable School will not automatically opt you out of our regular emails we send to general subscribers. It will only opt you out of emails we send from within our Teachable School. (Directions to unsubscribe from our regular House Gone Sane emails are shown in the following section, below.)

Emails sent to you may at times include, but are not limited to, updates and bonuses added to a course or resource library you are already enrolled in, additional tips on a similar topic, and at times marketing info on a similar topic. Please note House Gone Sane uses ConvertKit as the email subscription service.

Please note: If you are currently located within the EU, regardless of where you permanently reside, you will likely automatically be sent a GDPR consent form via email upon signing up for one of our products or joining our regular email list due to our compliance settings to follow the GDPR law affecting those in the EU region. This needs to be filled out in order to continue to receive automated emails from us. In the event our email service fails to send this out automatically, we will manually email you the consent form to sign and if you do not sign it within a couple of weeks, we will unfortunately need to unsubscribe you from our emails in order to stay legally compliant on our end with GDPR. If you are in the EU and decline to fill this out, we can still communicate via manual personal emails. So if you need to contact us via email, we can and will still respond to you, but you will not be able to subscribe to our regular automated emails we send out.

Unsubscribing to Emails

There should be an unsubscribe link on the very bottom of each email that you can click. (You may need to scroll down to see it.) At any time you can also contact us directly to request you are unsubscribed by sending an email to [email protected] and we can take care of this for you.

If you decide to unsubscribe from our email service, please allow us at least 2 weeks (we say this as a precaution, but it should take effect immediately,) to be completely unsubscribed. If for some reason you are getting subscriber emails from us after you have been unsubscribed for at least 2 weeks, please directly email us at [email protected] and let us know, as well as if you notice any other issues connected with our emails.

Please note there may also be automated emails sent to you directly from Teachable (that say they are from the House Gone Sane School) that are necessary in regards to you accessing a course, coaching, or resource library you signed up for or purchased, (such as the link to access it, to reset a password, etc.)

If you believe you are getting emails unnecessarily in error, please email us at [email protected] to let us know, and please send a screenshot of the email you received or simply forward it to us explaining the situation.

Respecting Your Privacy

We appreciate when our privacy and contact information is respected, and we will also respect yours. We will never intentionally spam our email subscribers with loads of unwanted messages, or purposely provide information to someone else so they could do so.

Our Communication Via Email

The main purpose of our having email subscribers is to communicate with them, which includes letting them know when we have information we feel they’ll find valuable. We may at times send promotional emails with certain products or services we think our subscribers would appreciate, and it’s solely up to them whether or not they decide to purchase them. We may also ask for feedback to improve our business, website, and course topics.

When you sign up for our email subscription, either directly or through one of our courses, coaching, or resource libraries, you are consenting to us contacting you by email, which may include both automated and manually sent emails. You consent to continue to receive our automated emails unless and until you unsubscribe.

If you sign up for our email subscription (including by signing up for a course or resource library,) you must be at least 18 years old, or at least 16 years old with parental consent, and you must use your real name and actual email address. You may not sign up with someone else’s information or with fake information.

You sign up at your own risk, and we are not liable for any losses, damages, or problems as a result. Any information we send through emails should be taken as is and for informational purposes only. We make no warranties or guarantees regarding any emailed content. You may unsubscribe from our email service at any time, if you choose to.

Please note we are not responsible for someone else impersonating you and using your information to sign up as a subscriber, etc. If you believe someone has misused your information, and are receiving emails from us but didn’t sign up for them and don’t wish to receive them, please unsubscribe and we will remove you from our email list. You are also welcome to contact us via email directly at [email protected] with any concerns.

Any information we send via email should be viewed as supplemental info in addition to information in our Teachable School or on our website, and an extension of our website and business. This being said, our disclaimer and policies as outlined on this page also applies to any emails we send. We are not responsible for you acting or failing to act on information on our website, or through our emails, including any information contained in supplemental worksheets/printables we attach within emails. Any information we email you is for informational purposes only.

At this time, the main method we use to contact School student/users is through email. Besides the use of Zoom or phone calls for our paid coaching clients, we don’t make a habit of contacting people via phone, text message, physical address, etc. In rare situations we may choose to do so, if an individual is agreeable and if we feel some special circumstance would make it appropriate, or if it involved one of our business relationships.

Sometimes computers have glitches or issues, and if there is something wrong with our email service, we want to know so it can be fixed. If our physical address doesn’t show up at the bottom of our emails, please let us know. It should read: 2061 South Park Ave #872, Buffalo, NY 14220. This is the address we can legally conduct business from in the state of NY.

Email Forwarding

You may not forward any emails we send you to anyone else, unless we give permission stating otherwise. By signing up as a subscriber, either directly or through our School, you agree you will not send any information we email you to anyone else without our consent. If you feel someone else would enjoy subscribing, please allow them to sign up for themselves, and you can give them the link to our website, (if you want to give them this information.)

11. Contact Us

To contact the School Instructor for feedback or questions, please send an email to [email protected] and please be sure to spell the email address correctly, (such as by copying and pasting it.). By sending an email to House Gone Sane, you are consenting to receiving a response.

12. Minors

Our courses and resource libraries are not intended for children, and to sign up you must be at least 18 years old, or at least 16 years old with a parent's permission. Parents are responsible for monitoring their minor children's online habits.

13. Honest Payment Methods

For any courses, coaching, or resource libraries you purchase, you must use your own legitimately obtained funds and/or account to do so, unless another individual has given you consent to allow you to use their legitimate funds to purchase the product. You may not use someone else's money or account to purchase a product without having their advance permission, and by making a purchase from the School you are implying you are legally allowed to use the payment method and funds used.

14. Generated Content

Generated content directly on this School website (such as comments,) or connected with this website (such as social media reposts/pins/comments) are public for other users/readers to access and view. You own the rights to any original content/comments you have posted on housegonesane.com , on our Teachable School, or in connection with our business, (including on social media platforms,) but you agree to give us an unlimited license to share such content in other areas of our business or website, our Teachable School website (such as for testimonials,) and/or in emails to our subscribers.

By sharing, publishing, or posting generated content, you agree we may mention the contents of your generated content, in whole or in part, and we may mention your name (that you commented under,) so we can properly credit the individual it originated from. We may decide to mention certain comments and the name of the commenter within blog articles and/or other places on our website or Teachable School site, or in emails to our subscribers.

You must either post generated content that belongs to you or you must properly credit someone else if you share or post ideas that were from someone else, and this applies to comments made on our School website and anywhere else in connection with our business. You may not violate anyone’s copyrights with your generated content, whether ours or that of another individual or company. In addition to comments you make on our School website being public for other School users to see, (including within courses or resource libraries,) you should also be aware that any comments you make on public platforms we use (such as Pinterest or social media) will be available for the general public to view, unless the platform allows you to set privacy settings in a way that limits who can see your comments or generated content, and you adjust the settings in this way. (Note that not all platforms allow you to keep comments, shares, or other generated content private.)

15. Comments

Some of the products in our Teachable School allow comments in one or more sections.

Any comments made by users should be truthful, respectful, and related or relevant to the section they’re posted under. Comments need to be made manually by a real person (not automated, through use of bots, etc.,) and shouldn’t be intended to spam either us or other users or website viewers. Comments should never be made with the intent of offering/selling products or services, trying to funnel viewers to a different website, be self-promotional, or be misleading in any way.

Comments should not contain profanity, religious or political remarks, anything sexual in nature (including subtle jokes or intended double-meanings,) or anything that could be considered aggressive, offensive, or discriminatory toward any individual or group of people, including but not limited to the School owner and admin.

If comments are made with an opinion that disagrees with views expressed by us or others who comment, they need to be expressed respectfully. If we notice comments are expressed in a way that is clearly disrespectful, combative, or aggressive towards others, we reserve the right to remove them or not approve them to begin with.

If You Want Us to Remove a Comment You Made

If you posted a comment you wish to be removed, please email us at [email protected] and we can do this. We will notify you by email once it is removed. Please allow up to 30 days for us to process this request. We may ask you to verify the email you used to make the comment (if you use a different one to email us the request) so we can verify you were the individual who made the comment. We may in addition, send a notification email to the email address used to make the comment initially as well if it is a different address than the email address we received the request from.

Links in Comments

Any links provided in comments should be relevant to the section they are posted under, and links should only be to web pages that are legal and appropriate for a general audience. Links should not be provided that lead to plagiarized articles or web pages, web pages religious or political in nature, or to web pages that include any sort of content or media that is sexual, obscene, or vulgar in nature, including if there is profanity in the linked article itself. No affiliate links, advertising links, or links that appear as ‘spam’ are permitted through comments made on the House Gone Sane School site.

As the website owner, we want all content on our website, including links, to be appropriate for our target audience and in line with our brand. If someone links to a web page that is not appropriate or relevant to our readers and brand, we reserve the right to remove the comment.

Personal Info in Comments

Comments should not violate the privacy of others in any way and shouldn’t display personal information, such as full names of an individual other than the commenter, the personal email address of anyone including the person commenting (we may collect this, but we don’t want it published,) employer information, physical addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers or other private legal info of anyone, and/or any other identifying information about others.

Profile Pictures for Comments

We reserve the right to ask anyone who comments to change their profile picture if we feel it is inappropriate in any way. We may restrict an individual’s access to comments because of this, or delete comments. Individuals commenting may only use profile pictures for comments that they have a legal right to use and/or legal ownership of. If a photo, graphic, or image belongs to someone else, it may not be used in any way on our website or School website without the owner’s prior written permission.

At this time, if you have an online Avatar associated with your email address/Wordpress account, it may show up when you comment.

Email Addresses Used for Comments

You may not use a false email address when signing up to comment or attempt to impersonate someone else. We reserve the right to report any cases of suspected fraud, harassment, or other legal issues that we may come across on our website or School website, including from comments.

Review of Comments by School Owner

The owner/operator of housegonesane.com and the House Gone Sane Teachable School reserves the right to monitor and respond to comments. Comments are often held in moderation until we manually approve them. Please note that we do not respond instantaneously; we don’t always see comments at the exact time they’re made. This being said, there may at times be questions that go temporarily unanswered.

Additionally, were someone to post an inappropriate comment that wasn’t moderated, it would be on our School site temporarily until we have the opportunity to review and remove it. We reserve the right to remove any comments, and block comments from certain individuals or IP addresses for any reason and/or without giving a reason or notice. We may also choose to remove comments that are older or that are no longer relevant.

We may contact you via email regarding a comment you made, such as if we found a reason it needed to be removed, if we need clarification on a question asked, or to notify you we responded to and/or approve your comment.

Implied Consent by Commenting

By submitting a comment in any of our courses, coaching, resource libraries, or on our website, you are consenting to the comment being published for the public to see, even if it is moderated first.

By submitting a comment you are also consenting to us contacting you regarding your comment(s.) If you don’t agree with this, please don’t comment/submit comments.

Please note that if you are not currently subscribed to our emails and you choose to comment, our contacting you via email regarding one or more comments does NOT mean we have subscribed you to any of our automated email lists. However, please note you may already be subscribed.

Comments by Minors

It is our policy that comments on the House Gone Sane School for any of our products be made only by adults who are age 18 or older, or minors who are 16 years of age or older who have parental consent. Minors younger than 16 or who don't have parental consent are not permitted to comment or use our Teachable School. Please note that any additional governing laws where you live that pertain to minors and internet usage should be followed.

16. Coaching Policies

House Gone Sane has started to accept coaching clients in relation to uncluttering a kitchen, forming & maintaining a daily/regular cleaning routine, and other home management topics.

The current days/times Ellie accepts coaching appointments for are:

Sundays 3:30pm-7pm EST

Mondays 11am-7pm EST

Tuesdays 8am-12:30pm EST

Wednesdays 8am-9:30am EST

(The scheduling link provided after a coaching purchase should show the times in your local time zone if you live in a different region outside of Eastern Standard Time.)

Scheduling Your Coaching Appointment

Upon purchasing coaching, you'll receive further instructions on how to book a time for your appointment, which can be done via the scheduling link provided.

(Please don't share this link with anyone else, as this is only for people to use to schedule who have already purchased coaching.)

Alternatively, you may by contact us by email at [email protected] with your availability.

If the times we have on the scheduling link don't work for you, we may be able to set up a mutually agreeable time via email based on your availability. (Please note that Ellie will not usually be able to do any sessions on Fridays or Saturdays but she can be somewhat flexible on other days and may be able to make a spot for you on a Thursday if needed, since that day is not open on the scheduling app.)

How will my coaching call be done?

Our main options for coaching at this time are either via zoom or phone call. Please note that we only do phone calls for US residents so neither party is charged international long-distance fees.

If you wish to use another platform/app for coaching, please send us an email at [email protected] in advance, and specify which platform/app you want to use with a brief explanation of how we can connect with you on it, and we will try to honor your request if possible. (However, we cannot guarantee we will agree to use a different platform, especially if there are additional fees, a lot of setup involved, or security concerns.)

During the coaching call, you will be free to express your current struggles, challenges, successes, and anything else about your situation as you please. Ellie will listen as you speak, and occasionally ask questions to help better understand your situation or to give you ideas for solutions, celebrate your home management successes with you, and offer suggestions, tips, and steps you may want to try to get your kitchen or home under control.

There is no judgement for anything you are dealing/struggling with and we want your coaching session to be a soft place to land.

In addition to providing support for uncluttering your kitchen, we are also open to coaching you with setting up a general home cleaning routine, providing support to help you get organized, or offering coaching in other areas of home management, etc.

We have found that there are a lot of factors that can affect the state of your home, and we want you to be comfortable talking about anything you feel moved to discuss, while also respecting any things you don't wish to discuss.

Ellie will aim to listen to you and be supportive of you as a person, regardless of your situation.

The only situations where Ellie may not give suggestions in are areas that would go against her personal conscience or convictions, (such as if someone is wanting coaching on topics involving something illegal/questionable or something that is against the morals, ethics, or Scriptural principles Ellie lives by,) in which case she is still willing to listen to your concerns, and will respectfully be transparent about areas she cannot provide suggestions on.

In the event a client wanted to focus a coaching session on a topic involving advice outside of what Ellie is able to provide, Ellie will offer them the chance to be refunded for that session and any future sessions they have paid for but haven't had or give them the option of discussing another topic she can assist with.

Confidentiality in Coaching

The client and personal details shared in the coaching session will remain confidential with House Gone Sane. The only exceptions to this would be if Ellie is required legally to reveal something, if Ellie believes a person's life or wellbeing is in danger and the authorities need to intervene, or if the client consents to information being shared, such as for the purpose of getting input from someone else to assist them, or for the purpose of them giving a testimonial they are willing to share openly.

Outside of Ellie's contacts in her phone/phone records and your email or scheduling record with this info, we will not share or store your number elsewhere.

It is also our policy that you may not share Ellie's personal phone number or Zoom information (for confidentiality purposes and for the protection of Ellie & her family's personal information.)

Please note regarding male clients:

Ellie, out of respect for her husband/marriage & her safety does not speak to men in private settings. So if you are a man, and want coaching, please note that Ellie will include her husband in any coaching calls. Her husband can offer helpful suggestions from the male perspective as well.

Male clients will have the option of doing one-on-one sessions with Ellie's husband or doing a joint session with both Ellie & her husband. That said, coaching slots may be more limited in availability for male clients as it will need to be scheduled at a time convenient for her husband to be present, and if you are a male client and have scheduled with the scheduling link, there is a possibility we may need to reschedule you to a different time due to this.

Disclaimer:

Please note for all clients, that while we wish to support you in a practical and even emotional way, and while keeping your home under control may lower stress/anxiety, we are not mental health experts and do not claim in any way to be a substitute for therapy or mental health solutions.

If that's something you personally need or may need, while we are of course more than happy to still provide coaching sessions to you, we recommend you see a professional mental health expert who is qualified to give you medical advice in these areas.

Refund Policies for Coaching

If you're unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason, please contact us via email at [email protected] within 30 days of your first coaching purchase before you have used both sessions to request a refund.

Please note, we do not offer refunds to clients who have already used both coaching sessions. You may request a refund after the first session is complete and before you have used a second session, or prior to using either session, so long as it is within 30 days of your purchase.

The reason we require a refund request prior to a second coaching session is that sessions require significant one-on-one time from the coach, Ellie (and her husband for male clients.)

If you've already had a 30-minute session, that is sufficient time for you to assess if it has been helpful and worth the cost you paid.

Please direct any refund requests to the course instructor Ellie Walker via email to [email protected] and please be sure you spell this email address correctly (such as by copying & pasting it,) so the request is properly received and can be processed.

Please include all of the following information in your refund request:

1.) Clearly state that you are requesting a refund and specify which product it is for and the date it was purchased.

2.) Briefly explain the reason why you are not happy with your purchase. We have this policy for the purpose of gathering feedback and making our products and services more helpful to future clients or users. (The nature of the reason you provide will not impact your refund.)

3.) Please include your name, and if you are emailing us from a different email than the one connected with your Teachable purchase, you will also need to specify which email you used to make the purchase.

Refund processing time:

Please allow 14 days for your refund to be processed on our end; we will process it as soon as we can. (We are not responsible for any additional delays on the end of the bank, credit card company, or financial institution you made the purchase through that is responsible for returning the funds to you.)

Regarding refunds if you have previously purchased coaching:

If you have purchased coaching more than once from us, we will only process refunds for any unused sessions within 30 days of the purchase date.

So, if you have already used one coaching session and have one left you don't want, we will refund you 50% of what you paid.

Regarding Partial Refunds

If you purchase a bundle of the Calm Kitchen Clutter Course & Coaching and want a partial refund for just the course or just the coaching part of the purchase, we can work that out, as long as Teachable (the platform this is hosted on) provides partial refunds as a current option.
If you purchased the bundle on sale, the sale price for the course alone (as it is priced to be sold separately) would be the portion refunded for the course, and any additional dollars would be the portion refunded for coaching. If you only wanted a refund for one coaching session, it would be half the amount of the cost allocated to the coaching part of the purchase.
If you purchased the bundle at full price of $179, the refund for just the course would be $79 and the refund for just coaching would be $100. If you only wanted a refund for one coaching session, the refund would be $50.
For the early bird bundle sale price offered to email subscribers at the Calm Kitchen Clutter course's beta launch, (not including any taxes/fees that may be added depending on where you live,) the course is $15 of the total price, and the remaining $54 is the portion that covers coaching, and this is how it would be broken up for a partial refund.

If You Request a Coaching Refund

Please note: If you request a refund for coaching, you will not be able to schedule any future calls and any calls you had scheduled will be canceled.

Regarding our refund policies:

**While in general we won't process refunds outside of our above-mentioned policies, if you have special circumstances, such as a financial hardship, we may decide to still process your request based on your situation, so you can always feel free to email us and ask.

Do I need to schedule my coaching sessions within a certain time frame?

No, they don't expire, and you are welcome to schedule them whenever is convenient for you.

If we haven't heard from you within a month or so after your purchase, we may send a reminder email to check in with you and resend you the link to schedule so you have it, but there is no pressure to schedule them by a certain date.

As long as House Gone Sane and the internet exist, you are welcome to schedule any sessions you've purchased, no matter how long ago it was.

In the event we stop offering coaching in the future, we will still honor scheduling all previously purchased sessions.

We do hope that you will make full use of any sessions you purchase because we want you to benefit from them, (and we don't want you to pay for something you won't use.)

Can I purchase coaching more than once?

Absolutely! For as long as we offer it, if you find yourself in need of coaching more than once, simply purchase the coaching again. Feel free to ask us about this at your final session prior to purchasing again or reach out to us via email at [email protected]

17. Access to Online Group(s) and/or Bonus Resources

Some of our products/courses may include bonus materials such as access to additional products and/or online groups.

Please note that these are considered bonuses and not included in the purchase price for the product they accompany. If you have previously purchased a product that is now being offered as a bonus, you will not get a discount on the main product it accompanies since it is considered a bonus and it's not included in the price for the paid product it is a bonus for.

Regarding Online Groups (such as Facebook Groups)

If you choose to take advantage of joining a Facebook Group or other online group that accompanies a course/product as a bonus resource or you become a paid member of an online group owned/run by House Gone Sane, you are responsible for following any rules attached to the online group, the specifics of which will be listed in each individual group.

If you choose to break one or more of the group rules or are displaying any other behavior that threatens the peace, safety, and/or purpose of the group or are being disrespectful to House Gone Sane admin and/or any of the group members, we reserve the right to rescind your bonus access and remove you from the group.

Even when members disagree in the group, it is expected that everyone still maintain respect and kindness towards others in how they act and communicate.

We may privately contact individuals in the group who do/say something that is a concern to us or the safety of our other group members, and/or we reserve the right to monitor and/or remove posts or comments that are not relevant to the purpose of the group or are disrespectful to others and/or violate the privacy or rights of others.

Paid Online Groups/Facebook Groups

Some of the online groups we offer may be paid to join or we may require a monthly fee after you receive a limited amount of free access.

If you get a free trial in an online group for a certain amount of months, we will not charge you automatically unless you sign up for a monthly fee yourself. People who do not sign up to stay in the paid group after their trial is over will simply be removed from the group.

You may cancel the paid group at any time after signing up, by logging into your Teachable account and canceling on the product page listed for the paid online group.

Please note we do not offer refunds once you join a payment plan for an online group you previously had a free trial for, since you already know what you are purchasing and had a free trial, and have the ability to cancel whenever you want.

The same rules still apply when you are in an online group after you become a paying member. And we reserve the right to uphold the rules the same way as was previously mentioned in this section, regardless of whether you are in a free trial, have access as a bonus, or are a paid member.

18. Disclosure

House Gone Sane has business/financial relationships with certain companies, merchants, and individuals, and as a result we may have affiliate or referral links or ads for ingredients, tools, services, or products used in connection with our content that we feel are relevant and useful.

You are under no obligation to click on affiliate or referral links or ads, and even if you decide to click on them, you are under no obligation to purchase anything. If you click on, sign up for something, or make a purchase via one of these links, we may receive a small commission or be compensated in some way.

If you decide to click on an affiliate link or ad, the link will direct you to a third party’s web page where you may have the option of purchasing a product or service. We periodically check that our links are working, but if you find one that is not leading where it should, we would appreciate you contacting us via email at [email protected] to let us know.

We may choose to do sponsored posts/content at times, and will disclose which posts/content are sponsored. Whichever company/merchant is sponsoring our post/content will either pay us or give us some other form of compensation by our featuring their product or service. You are under no obligation to read/view/listen to a sponsored post or other content, or to purchase the product or service.

Any reviews we do are honest and based on our own opinions and experience with a product or service. Please note that results may vary, as do opinions. It is your responsibility to fully research products or services prior to purchasing or using them, and we are not liable or responsible for any negative experiences or disappointments from products or services we recommend, and/or that you buy through our affiliate links or ads. If you have a bad experience with a purchase, please contact the company or manufacturer it was purchased through and relay any issues directly to them.

We only choose to feature sponsored posts and affiliate or referral links for products and services we have used or trust. We will turn down offers to feature products or services that we don’t trust, wouldn’t use ourselves, that don’t offer good quality for the price, and/or don’t coincide with our brand, message, and niche.

We choose affiliate and referral links along with digital products we make as our main source of income (versus excessive amounts of intrusive ads) because we find them to be helpful to people who choose to take advantage of them, but not disruptive to our website visitors and Teachable students.

We also use referral programs at times for products and/or services we use, such as the Living Well Planner and the Ibotta app.

We may receive a referral commission, reward, and/or fee if you choose to sign up or purchase through any of our referral links, at no extra cost to you.

We only recommend referral links for products or services we use and/or trust.

We report all of our income on taxes each year, and we strive to form financial/business relationships only with companies and/or individuals that conduct business legally in connection with our business relationship (to our knowledge.) If you have any legitimate concerns when it comes to potential legal issues with our website or companies we work with, please contact us at [email protected] with these concerns.
